The concept for the lighting design was to offer a sanctuary for our client, a frequent traveler. Our lighting design concept focused on harmonizing the client's circadian rhythm, enhancing every activity within the home. From entertaining guests and cozy movie nights to rejuvenating moments and energized beginnings, the home is an environment that nurtures well-being.
Our expertise came to life in addressing the unique lighting opportunity presented by the expansive living room windows that overlook the glowing city streets. By utilizing recessed downlights and selectively dimming the lighting on vertical surfaces, we minimized reflections on the floor-to-ceiling windows. When illuminated, the perimeter lighting evokes a cozy atmosphere within the home, while turning it off allows the space to seamlessly merge with the vibrant cityscape beyond.
Within the interiors, our attention to detail extended to accentuating key areas such as the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom shelves. We highlighted the golden wallpaper in the corridor, artfully bridging the transition from public to private spaces.
By tailoring distinct lighting settings for each area, we achieved a lighting program that delivers higher lumen output and color temperature during the day, and a soothing dimness of 2700K in the evening. This approach promotes the production of melatonin, guiding the homeowner into a restful sleep at the end of a busy day. Collaborating with Ketra, a leader in smart home control systems, allowed us to integrate cutting-edge technology to offer our client complete control over the lighting experience.
